5 Things to Pack for Your First Trip to the Maldives

By Admin

The Maldives is one of the easiest honeymoon and beach destinations to plan for once you know what to expect. Most resorts take care of the big things — transfers, meals, water sports — but a few small items make a real difference once you land.

1. Reef-safe sunscreen

Many resorts now require reef-safe sunscreen to protect the house reef, and it is genuinely better for your skin under that much sun. Pack more than you think you need.

2. A light cover-up

Overwater villas and beach walkways mean you will be in and out of swimwear all day. A breathable cover-up keeps you comfortable at lunch and during transfers.

3. Water shoes

House reefs are beautiful but can be sharp underfoot. A simple pair of water shoes makes snorkelling and wading far more comfortable.

4. A dry bag for the speedboat transfer

Transfers between the airport and your resort are often by speedboat or seaplane, and spray is common. A small dry bag keeps your phone and passport safe.

5. A little more cash than you’d expect

Most resorts run on all-inclusive plans, but excursions, spa treatments and souvenirs at the local islands are usually paid separately.

“Pack light, pack smart — the Maldives does the rest.” That’s the advice we give every couple booking their first overwater villa with us.
